Monique Black - Managing Consultant Monique Black specializes in using human resources to support business growth. She has close to 15 years of experience in managing corporate "lifecycles" - such as starts ups, mergers, acquisitions, and closures - through the smart development and application of HR policies and procedures. Before joining Vantaggio HR in 2002, she worked in the fast-and-furious tech sector, where she advised the corporate managers and boards of directors of companies such as QuickStart Technologies and Engage Games Online on organizational development, employee management, and labor law compliance. Monique began her career with Adia Services, where she honed her client services skills. Monique received her bachelor of arts in communication from Westmont College and a certificate in human resources management from UCI. Monique finds her creative outlet in craft projects with her children and in helping her husband manage a successful Newport Beach hair salon. |

Christel Bendel - Senior HR Consultant Christel Bendel has devoted her career to the advancement of human relations, as a practitioner, student, and educator. She brings a unique multicultural perspective to her role as a human resources consultant at Vantaggio HR. She joined the firm in 2000 to provide broad HR guidance to employers, who benefit from her 15 years of experience at leading service companies. Christel's corporate HR management experience includes roles at Leroy Merlin, the international home-improvement warehouse company, where she successfully represented the Company in several formal labor complaints; helped decrease employee turnover from 85 to 9 percent by coaching the management team on recruiting, training, and management techniques; and implemented a new time tracking system, training managers and employees to use it according to labor law requirements. Christel earned a masters in business administration from Toulouse Business School in France. She also obtained certificates in HR development from CNAM Paris and HR management from UCLA. She has taught undergraduate courses in HR management at the University of Paris XII. In her spare time, Christel enjoys being a talented cook and teaching her two young sons to speak French. |
Tracey Jensen - Senior HR Consultant Tracey well understands the interplay between the law and Human Resources. As a former practicing attorney and law clerk, she effectively addresses potential legal issues and, if needed, responds to administrative law complaints She recruited, trained, and managed staff and volunteers as a directing and managing attorney at various non-profits and taught "Interviewing, Counseling, and Negotiation" as an adjunct law professor. Tracey subsequently specialized in Employee Relations at a large, multi-state company and is an adept problem-solver, providing well-reasoned, practical options which are sensitive to the client's culture and needs. Tracey is a graduate of Wellesley College and the University of Southern California (USC) Law School. Additionally, she served as a Presidential Fellow at USC's Leadership Institute and received a certificate in Human Resources Management from California State University, Fullerton. |

Carla Albritton - HR Consultant Carla Albritton's diverse background as a social worker, teacher, and industrial HR manager gives her particular depth as an HR consultant at Vantaggio HR. She joined the firm in 2004 to aid clients in all areas of HR compliance and management, with a particular emphasis on recruiting. Prior to linking with Vantaggio HR, Carla managed the HR operations of a 600-employee company, where she handled all aspects of their HR administration including worker's compensation claims management, benefit design and administration, and key talent recruiting. She holds a dual bachelors degree in social sciences and human resource management. In addition, she has completed masters level work in business administration and education, holds a State of Florida teaching credential, and is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). Carla works from a satellite office in Tampa, Florida where her time is divided between a rigorous professional schedule and spending time with her family which includes twin toddlers. |
Torrie Plata - HR Consultant Torrie Plata brings to Vantaggio HR ten years of strong administrative management and human resources generalist experience. She has held challenging administrative management positions for prominent firms in the real estate brokerage and development industries such as Colliers Seeley International and Shea Properties. Most recently, prior to joining the firm in 2005, Torrie focused on emerging, entrepreneurial businesses executing the creation of human resources departments from the ground up. Her broad generalist background has included strategic planning with senior executives in recruiting, targeted selection and forecasting, implementing HRIS/payroll conversions, and benefits administration. Torrie earned her masters degree in Organizational Development from the University of Phoenix as well as a bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of California, Riverside. She is tri-lingual in English, Spanish, and Thai. Torrie enjoys spending quality family time with her husband and three young sons. |

Cherelle Tye-Liao - Associate HR Consultant Cherelle Tye comes from a background in the service industry with nearly 10 years of training, management, and leadership skills behind her. Her eye for perfection and her organizational talents make her a great addition to the Vantaggio HR team. Cherelle's previous experience includes management positions for two nationally known firms - Ruby's Diner and Corporate 7-11, Inc. At Vantaggio, Cherelle assists with human resource, business development, sales, and marketing needs. She graduated Cum Laude from Biola University with a bachelors degree in Psychology and has an appreciation for the arts, philosophy, history, and travels. |
